The four course meal included: Country Artichoke dip with fresh spent grain beer bread; Potato leek cheddar soup paired with Pemi Pale Ale; House spring green salad with balasamic stout vinaigrette paired with Weasel Wheat Ale; Red Rack braised short ribs, Grilled swordfish, Chicken Caprezzi, roasted maple potatoes, and fresh corn on the cob paired with Pig’s Ear Brown Ale; and Old Man Stout chocolate mousse paired with Chocolate Porter for dessert! Proceeds from the event will benefit the Papermill Theatre season.

papermill14 204.JPGLincoln, NH, August 11, 2010: North Country Center for the Arts Papermill Theatre will conclude its 2010 Children’s Theatre season with the performance of Sleeping Beauty the week of August 16-21. 

Throughout the summer, five professional adult actors from the Papermill Children’s Theatre Company perform original musical adaptations of popular fairy and folk tales in seven communities throughout New Hampshire. The 2010 Children’s Theatre season has included performances of Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Fisherman and His Wife, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Pinocchio, The Red Shoes, and Aesop’s Fables. 

papermill14 198.JPGFor their final week, the Papermill Children’s Theatre Company will perform Sleeping Beauty, depicting the tale of a dark witch who puts a sleeping spell on a Princess and the royal household. The spell can only be broken by a brave Prince who must fight the fearsome dragon that guards the castle.
“The Papermill Children’s Theatre Company has done a fantastic job of adapting folk and fairy tales in a creative way, while staying true to the message of the story,” states Artistic Director Kate Arecchi. “The Children’s Theatre is a perfect activity for the entire family, and I’ve had many parents tell me they loved the show just as much as their children did!” 
The Children’s Theatre Company will perform Sleeping Beauty in the following communities:

  • Monday, August 16: Claremont-Claremont Opera House (10:00am), Plainfield-Plainfield Town Hall (1:00pm)Tuesday,
  • August 17: Concord-Capitol Center for the Arts (11:00am, 2:30pm)Wednesday,
  • August 18: Lincoln-Papermill Theatre at the Governor’s Lodge at Loon Mountain (9:30am, 10:30am) Thursday,
  • August 19: Waterville Valley-Rey Center (10:30am), Plymouth-Silver Cultural Arts Center (2:00pm)Friday,
  • August 20: Intervale-Believe in Books Theater in the Wood (10:00am, 11:30am) Saturday,
  • August 21: Lincoln-Papermill Theatre at the Governor’s Lodge at Loon Mountain (9:30am)

Children’s Theatre tickets can be purchased by contacting the location site. Tickets for the Lincoln performances are $6 and can be purchased online at www.papermilltheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at (603) 745-2141.
